The Hornchurch branch of Manorcourt Homecare, which provides personal care and support to people in their own homes across the area, has received extremely positive feedback from its Local Authority.

Part of the Healthcare Homes Group, the Hornchurch branch of Manorcourt Homecare was inspected by the London Borough of Havering Joint Commissioning Unit earlier this month in an unannounced visit.

Inspectors visited the team and reviewed a range of service areas including the quality of care provided, health and safety compliance and staffing. The team was scored as being 100% compliant in almost every area, receiving an overall score of 98.35%.

The aim of the care provision at Manorcourt is to enable service users to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.  As a result, care packages are tailored to individual needs. Inspectors noted this, stating that “Comprehensive support plans are completed for all Service Users stating their support needs and are reviewed regularly” and “They take into account residents’ and relatives’ opinions and concerns.”

The assessment team also carried out telephone interviews with service users to obtain their feedback on the care they received. Positive comments included “The carers are very polite – I don’t know what my brother and I would do without the carers – it’s a very good service in our community.”

Branch Manager for Manorcourt Homecare, Hornchurch, Lisa McDonald said: “It’s really important that services such as ours are regularly reviewed in this way as it is essential that we are providing the type of care that people need, which is of the highest quality. I’m therefore delighted that we were found to be performing to such a high standard – this is our ultimate goal at all times.

“We want to help people to live independently in their homes as long as possible and the level of care we provide is helping people to do this.  We’d like to expand our service to help even more people who are in need of support; so I would welcome anyone who may be interested in joining our team to get in touch with us.”

The team provides support to community members in the Hornchurch area, offering services such as domestic help, dementia care, personal care, respite care, supported living and live-in care.   Each branch of Manorcourt Homecare provides person-centred care and support services that are tailored to individual needs of people requiring in-home care packages.
