There was a fantastic early Christmas surprise recently for one of the younger gentlemen living at Stocks Hall Mawdesley Care Home.

David Davis, 23 who is a massive Saints fan, received an unannounced visit from rugby league player, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, and by the look on his face, couldn’t believe who had come to see him!

Louie is a prop forward for St Helens Rugby League Club in the Betfred Super League.  An England and Ireland representative forward, he has previously played for Harlequins in his home town of London before joining St Helens, with whom he won the 2014 Super League Championship.

Louie very kindly took time out of his hectic training schedule to come and spend the morning with David at the Home and present him with some signed shirts.

David says “I’m absolutely amazed that Louie came to see me – he’s my favourite player and really makes me laugh.”

Manager of the Home, Faye Wilkinson says “Thank you to Louie and St Helens Rugby League Club – you have made David’s Christmas so special.”
