“We are taking care to the next level,” said Aura director Peter Lloyd. “Many enjoy the finer things in life and why should this stop when you get older. Residents here are enjoying our hotel like services; this is something that we wanted to bring to what is quite a dated industry.

“The Kings Bar is a great venue and is super-stylish. It would not look out of place in London,” he added.

Lisa Strevens is director of care services for Kings Lodge and said: “Nobody has achieved the perfect marriage of outstanding environment with outstanding care. Our real aim is for residents to be part of a community, to enjoy life, to go places, enjoy things and produce and interact, giving purpose and meaning to their staff within the home. Our vision is for our residents and staff to have a lot of fun, happiness and engagement.”
