Staff at Oaklands House care home in Reydon, near Lowestoft, have surprised their volunteers with a special treat to thank them for their work.

As part of National Volunteers Week, the home’s three volunteers were asked to come to the home on Monday 6th June and were surprised with a bouquet flowers each, a card, and a specially made cake and sausage rolls

Volunteer Eileen helps at the home by manning the tea trolley, Pauline runs bingo games and keep fit classes and Hazel helps with activities such as the annual boat trip, tea outings and bingo.

All three give up their time to contribute to the home and support the residents.

Home Manager Sandra Saunders said, “Volunteers Week was the perfect time for us to show our wonderful volunteers how much we appreciate the work that they do.

“We really can’t thank them enough for the time they give us, which helps us make sure we are providing as many events and activities as possible for our residents, so that life at Oaklands House is enjoyable and fun.

“On behalf of the Oaklands team and all our residents, we would like to say a huge thank you.”
