In light of the recent torrential weather, two residents at Lostock Lodge Care Home in Northwich have defied the rain and started their own gardening club! Colin & Dave (pictured) have been getting very green fingered recently and have been planting lots of different shrubberies and plants!

Spread over three floors, Lostock Lodge is registered to provide personalised residential and dementia care in a luxury environment, but at an affordable cost to the local community. It was officially opened by George Osborne MP, ex Chancellor of the Exchequer in January 2017.

Providing stimulating activities in our care homes is one of the most crucial elements of maintaining happy and healthy residents. That’s why Lostock Lodge provides an array of activities that residents can be involved in if they choose, such as allowing helping to prepare dinner and providing assistance with housekeeping, all the way through to pet therapy and memorable trips out into the community.

Discussing the home and its recently implemented activity program, Home Manager of Lostock Lodge Care Home, Cheryl Wildman stated “our philosophy is simple – families and residents are at the heart of everything we do. This particular activity is part of Country Court Care’s group wide “meaningful opportunities” program, where residents have access to a huge variety of activities, all tailored to our residents likes and dislikes.”
