Kent home care provider, Caremark (Maidstone) held a fun day of Bingo in Staplehurst, in the day centre of the local Golding Homes Housing Association.

Managing Director of the homecare company Peter Zhang, is keen to combat loneliness in his local community and so organized a day of Bingo for the older residents living at Golding Homes.

The response to (Maidstone)’s invitation was very positive and a group of ten ladies turned up to enjoy a day of fun, Bingo and socialising in a relaxed environment.

There were multiple prizes for the winning cards and all the guests were treated to a buffet sandwich lunch, together with hot and cold refreshments.

Care Manager, Krystal Parkes commented: “We would love to provide this opportunity for those who feel isolated and for people who love Bingo.  We are really happy we have achieved our goal!”

The Bingo day was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves.

One of the main prizes was a voucher for Companionship Services from Caremark during the month of March.  This was particularly well received as older people often wish to access their local shops and meet friends but sometimes feel unsafe trying to venture out alone.

Margaret was the lucky winner of the Companionship voucher and was delighted with her prize.  She said: “It’s great to have this prize!”

With Bingo now firmly on the social activities agenda, Caremark plan to hold an event every two months and are already planning the next day which will be held in a neighbouring  village.
