Augustus Court_MP ShelbrookeTo celebrate opening its doors to the public this week, Augustus Court care centre invited local MP Alec Shelbrooke to present the staff team with their successfully completed training certificates.

As well as taking the time to get to know the team, MP Alec Shelbrooke also took the opportunity to have a look around the £5.7million luxury home, which will create 40 new jobs for the local area.

“I was delighted to visit Augustus Court. During my visit a number of potential residents were looking around the home and commented how the facility is a welcome addition to the care home sector in Garforth. This significant investment is fantastic for our local economy and the care sector in the local area. It’s part of my long-term plan for Elmet & Rothwell to reach full employment so the new jobs and skills Augustus Court brings to Garforth is especially welcome”.

Care Centre Manager Mary Usher added:

“I firmly believe that training is the cornerstone of a robust and successful care home and we invest heavily in ensuring that all of our staff are fully prepared for their roles.”

Situated in the residential area of Church Gardens in Garforth, close to the town centre, Augustus Court provides residential and respite care and support for elderly ladies and gentlemen. Run by award-winning Meridian Healthcare, the home is one of seven in the company’s Premiere Collection.
