Priory Group take the lead in dementia strategy

Priory Group’s Older People’s Division has appointed an experienced manager to a new role of Dementia Lead as the leading healthcare provider drives forward enhanced dementia strategies.

Ginny Patterson will be working across the older people’s service division and head the group’s Dementia Strategy, which will be launched later in the summer.

Ginny is highly experienced in devising and delivering dementia training and implementing dementia strategies. For the past year she has been providing consultancy advice and support to a number of care providers and has had previous experience working with a large elderly care provider as Service Quality Advisor and Dementia Lead. Ginny has also worked as a CQC inspector and is committed to providing the highest standard of care.

She will be working with care home managers across the Priory Group’s elderly care provision facilities, which are located throughout the UK, to support them in continuously improving the individual experience of people living with dementia.

The Priory Group has 48 Care Homes across the UK. Many of these services offer dementia care and the appointment of a Dementia Lead to enhance the services will help to provide more innovative services in this area.

Ginny Patterson said: “I am really looking forward to working on the development of a new dementia strategy for the older people’s division within The Priory Group. I will be looking at enhancing the quality of the services we already provide by ensuring a holistic approach to person-centred dementia care.”
