Lambhill Court Care Home Awarded Prestigious Eat Safe Award in Scotland

Glasgow based Lambhill Court Ltd has been awarded with the Eat Safe Award in Scotland.


Formed in 1987, with five care homes for the elderly based in and around Glasgow and employing a 350-strong workforce, Lambhill Court Ltd has experience of more than 20 years in the care of elderly people and is an equal opportunities employer.


The Eat Safe Award is administered by Local Authority Environmental Health Services in conjunction with the Food Standards Agency.


Eat Safe consists of a single tier of award granted by local authorities to establishments meeting standards of food hygiene which are over and above those required by current food hygiene legislation.

Lambhill Court was assessed for the award as part of scheduled food hygiene inspections, carried out by Local Authority Environmental Health Services, who also issue and control the Eat Safe Award certificates. This is the second home within the Lambhill Court Ltd family of care homes to have achieved this Award, Florence House received the Eat Safe Award in November 2011.

Sunita Poddar, Managing Director at Lambhill Court Ltd, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this recognisable ‘sign’ of excellence in standards of food hygiene. It’s wonderful to have such a great team at Lambhill Court and to receive recognition for their hard work”.

Mrs Poddar added: “This award will join our Scottish Care’s Nutrition & Eating Well award won by our Head Chef, George Gray, certificate of recognition from the Bridges Programmes, Florence House part of the Lambhill Court Ltd family of care homes Eat Safe Award and we have retained our IIP Status for another year”.
