Residents and staff from Nithsdale Lodge Care Home, part of Lotus Senior Living and Nightingale House, part of Sterling Care Homes joined Mohsen for a day of celebrating dance.
The intention of International Dance Day is to celebrate dance, to revel in the universality of this art form, have fun, to cross all political, cultural and ethnic barriers and bring people together with a common language – Dance.
Music in Motion were on hand to get everyone warmed up and ready for a fun dance day as well as a quiz and sing along. The workshops benefit all residents and are fun, stimulating and extremely varied and really got everyone up dancing.
Refreshments and a buffet were served at lunchtime to energise everyone for some further dancing in the afternoon.
Liz Campbell, Mohsen’s Manager said: “It really was great to see so many residents having fun and staff making the effort to get dressed up in 1950’s – 1990’s attire today. The residents are looking forward to doing it all again soon”.
Managing Director, Arti Poddar said: “It was a lovely day of celebrating our co-existence and a way to give and make space and time for each other. It was tremendous to see so many residents joining in the different types of dances and it was another opportunity for everyone to have some fun”.
